Fn a major Italian company, we delivered, installed and started up a drying system, model ESV, vacuum ventilated, suitable for drying thick planks of fine timber.

Installation and commissioning

We transported the plant on site with our own vehicles and organised the unloading by crane. For the plant in question, we also provided a technical control cabin, connected to the plant, so that the operator can safely work even during the cold months. The drying plant was also tested with a test cycle, which passed with flying colours.

The drying of precious woods

Precious woods, because of their intrinsic value, require special care during treatment. In fact, it is important to preserve the colour, the beautiful grain, and also the shape, avoiding defects such as splitting or bending of the boards.

Our customer mainly deals with exotic, high-value woods such as mahogany, okumé, sassafras, iroko, but also European woods such as ash, chestnut and oak to name a few.

Our dryers are equipped with a control that constantly monitors the climatic parameters of the chamber, making sure that there are no humidity gradients and defects.

Drying too quickly would in fact lead to the formation of moisture gradients through the thickness of the boards. The result would be a surface that is too dry, with a still wet core, and consequently the formation of surface cracks.
